Father's Day 2

Well its here again:The time of year i always get stuck on what to make my dad for Father's Day(Well 2 dad's-my hubbys Dad too). This stamp set never fails to please. They have both probably had it before-though they wont remember!!!ha ha .Though i must add, I am not saying they are both OLD ...YET!!!! They are just men and they wont remember what they got last year. (I also know they wont read my blog so i can write what i like tee hee!!!)love em loads though!
I have used 'Aspects of Design' Mens Sheet

The bits of card around the edges are just the scraps of cards i would of thrown away.
I must say this is one sheet you can rely on every year. Each time it looks so different.I have made another card for the other dad which i will post later

Bye for now

A Quick play.

Last week Ian'The Stampman' gave me this moonglow filagree, knowing my other half was a keen fly fisherman,to try and make it look like a rainbow trout.Well, today ive had a quick play.Ive used the gorgeous moonglow powders to try and achieve this.

Hopefully if i get the time i will try and make him a Father's day card!(Well the kids will)!!

Simon Says Pink and Brown

Thought i'd enter the Simon says challenge.I think iam in time!!The challenge is Pink and Brown, and seeing as i love these colour combos i thought i would enter.

Here i have used another lovely Stampendous set 'Silhouette Songbirds'I stamped onto some pink paper i have had for years and is probably discontinued now,but it is Basic Grey 'Two scoops'.It is actually a paper pack that i havent even touched!! I very rarely use papers as i normaly like to stroke them!!ha ha ,so make my own backgrounds.

I stamped with Distress ink Brushed Corderoy.
The Happy Birthday Is from a Hero Set 'Cupcakes'

Again i have used the funky flowers sheet, but i have to admit i dont like this card at all and it very nearly got binned!!!!

I used worn lipstick distress ink.For the background i stamped onto velum using a flower head off the same unmounted sheet.

Tuesday Taggers Challenge

Well I have finally had the time to do this weeks Tuesday Taggers Challenge .This weeks you had to design a card and wrapping paper to match.I think a gift box counts as wrapping paper!
Anyway i have used Aspects of Design Funky Frames (which are blog Candy at the moment at THE STAMPMANS BLOG so go and get your name down if you havent all ready)!!! I painted them with Starburst Stains. The backing paper is also made with the Starburst stains then cut out with the nesties. The flowers are paper flowers(NEW) and are fab.

For the gift box i used WS Designs pillar box template and stamped the butterfly using versamark and then used the fab Moonglow pigment powders 'milky way'.Again used the New papers flowers and added one of my 'shrunken alcohol inky flowers'!!!

The ribbons and fibres were from my stash!

Funky Flowers and Mardi Gra Starburst Stains

Here I have used the starburst stains Mardi Gra another lovely set with the backing papers i made earlier. With the remaining scraps of paper i made my own paper beads.

The first of The Funky Flowers Cards

Well ive managed to stay away from my usual pink, purple and blue colours. That would of been just too simple for me as i always seem to reach on auto for those colours!!!lol!!.Ive done my best to try colours i wouldnt normaly use.On this card i have used the Distress inks Mustard seed and Spiced Marmalade

Also can i thank everyone for all the lovely comments which they leave or have left in the past.I do try to get round everyones blogs.
Thankyou

Have a fab weekend xx

Tuesdays Taggers (Saturday in my case!!)lol

Well i didnt think i'd make this weeks Tuesday Taggers with it being the school hols etc.Anyhow ,i have been sampling The Stampmans new Aspects of Design sheets in and among and this actual piece was one i threw away earlier and then rescued from the bin and altered it!abit!!
The challenge was 'Bright and Bold'

I used Aspects of Design 'Funky Flower'stamp sheet and ditress ink pad Spiced Marmalade and glossy accents.

Butterfly Beauties

Hi All
Hope your enjoying the bank holiday.Isnt the weather just glorious.Just a quick post today of a card i made a week or two back.

Here i have used a Stampendous clear set called Butterfly Beauties. The background was stamped onto green bassil with distress ink pad shabby shutters. For the larger butterfly i used brushed cordeuroy, shabby shutters and antique linen.
The card at the top i have used Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender.

China Blue Challenge

I don't need an excuse to use this stamp as i just love it and i thought it was perfect for this challenge. It is the Oriental Poppy from 'Aspects of Design Sheet 1'
Here i have used Starburst stains for the background. Then i stamped using versamark and again used the 'Pigment Powders'. I stamped the poppy again and cut it out and triple embossed it,first using ultra thick and the top layer being moonglow ep 'Midnight sapphire Obsidian' and 'Venus Violet Blue'.I inked the poppy with brilliance pearlescent Blue and stamped into it while still hot.

The Japanese paper on the left is what my Japanese Penfriend sent me. For the centre of the poppy i have used micro beads.

All the embellishment are also from The Stampman

Tuesday Taggers Challenge

Well i thought i would have a go at the new Challenge blog 'Tuesday Taggers' .The first challenge is 'new beginnings' ie: home, baby etc
To be honest i havent a clue what i have created. At the time i wasnt in a clean, tidy mood, i was in a messy, slap it on mood.(If you get what i mean)!!!
Anyhow, in the depths of my drawers in my craftroom,i found all sorts of goodies,so i cant tell you what is from where. as ive had them years. The house is chipboard and the tag is from a flower tag book.Perhaps this can eventually be the front cover to a book !!!. The 'Open' embellishment seemed appropriate for the opening of the new challenge blog.

The create embellishment just explains the mood i was in!!!
I can tell you i coloured the flower tag with a distress ink pad and painted the house in adirondack paint.

An Exploding Box

I know Jill collects boxes, but i bet she hasnt one quite like this or as small.
The measurements of the closed box are 1.75''x3'' tall

For the outside panels i stamped with Aspects of Design Sheet 49 Japanese Dragonfly Dreams For the inside panels of the box i used Aspects of Design Sheet 39-Dainty Dragonflies
Oh and i cant forget one of my 'shrunken alcoholic flowers 'on the lid!!
While blog browsing on friday i came across a little more inspiration!(Oh NO!not MORE)!!!It was on exploding boxes.I have seen them before, but never quite as stunning as these and i thought it would be perfect to combine with the pigment powders. The instructions and measurements are HERE. I was really surprised at how small it was,as it is all made from a piece of A4 card.
Thankyou Elaine for the inspiration

A Sneaky Peek

Ive had such a busy weekend and i have sooooo neglected my family!!!!(im such a cruel mum).I'm going to have to shut the door on my room for a few days as it's drawing me in all the time at the moment.I really dont know what is up with me, as my mojo seems to be on overdrive.Iam constantly thinking of what i can make next. There is soo much inspiration on everyones blogs!I think im going to have to ban myself from blogging too!!!
Anyhow this is one(of many things) i have made this weekend and it is for Jill.I cannot put the full pictures on yet as i havent given it to her yet.So you will have to come back. All i can say it is very interesting!!hee hee and fiddly!!She asked me to do something else with the pigment powders so i have and it's NOT a card!

Also my hubby wanted me to post something else so it would take his pic of other peoples blogs who have to linked mine to theirs!!!!ha ha (he got a bit of a shock last night when he saw a pic of himself on someone else's blog.He was looking over my shoulder cos he saw someone with a fish !then realised it was him!!!ha ha it was sooooo funny!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for looking x

Debbie

I'm a fishing Widow too!!!!

Just so you dont think i completely neglect my family while crafting i thought i would post this of my hubby. While i craft he goes Fly Fishing! He absolutely loves it.It is good in a way, which means he never questions what i buy on my crafting equipment,as is fishing equipment costs much much more! For years he was a keen rubgy player for Wharfedale, until he broke his leg, then took up fly fishing.Which is a safer sport!(well i think so,when he doesnt slide down bankings into the water!!!)

This picture is his claim to fame.Only the other month he caught an 11lb 'GOLDEN' Trout and won a Trout Master award in the Trout fisherman magazine. He was so chuffed. He's so lucky.he always seems to win things!!!He's now after a 2009 badge!

Anyhow with all this inspiration flying around in my head(ive something else too now! to add with the pigment powders, but not telling yet.You will just have to come back!!)It certainly wont be finished today though!

Have a great weekend

I have tried my best to capture the colours of the powders. So gorgeous.Right im off to clean!!!!

Being a Yorkshire girl ive always known these as 'Buns'!!But today Jill and I had a debate in the shop and some said cupcakes and some said Buns.????Who knows. Please leave a comment iam really interested.Though i will still always say 'i'm going to bake some buns'
Anyway for the card,i made the the template myself and used some paper i had in my stash. The ribbon i bought from a craft shop in Denmark last year when i was staying with my cousin. The delicious is a clear stamp from the clearset 'cupcakes' by Heroarts.

Makes me want to go and bake some 'BUNS'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hee hee

Hello and Happy Birthday Sophie xx

Morning All-a quick post today.
Its my daughter 10th birthday today,so no crafting! All she wants to do is go for her breakfast and a walk at Bolton Abbey. So i cant complain with that.Although i did have to sit through Hannah Montana the movie last night!!Though it was ok.
The card below is a Hero stamp which i have used on previous posts. For the background i have used a clear stampset also by Heroarts and added my alcoholic flowers!I love them they are sooo useful. Then i have used my little sewing machine round the edge for the stitching.(It must be the smallest sewing machine in the world!!Below on a previous post)

Have a great Sunday xxx

Evening All
Well i wasnt going to post anymore Japanese Doll cards just yet,but its all i seem to be making at the moment. My daughter Sophie has requested them for All her friends. So she is keeping me rather busy.Hopefully it will be something different the next time!!

Cute Japanese Dolls

Here i stamped the background stamp with Distress inks .I then added the 'alcoholic shrunken flowers'which i previously made below! The Japanese doll i stamped with a Memento ink pad in Tuxedo Black which seems to have stamped nice.(At last i seem to found a good black ink pad.Though this is a dye ink and cannot be embossed with) .The Japanese papers i have used are from The Stampman and the Japanese Dolls are Heroarts

The Brights!

Ive now managed to get my hands on the bright Alcohol Inks and this afternoon i spent making flower after flower.I'm surprised my heat gun didnt blow up!!!
The colours are so lovely.
