I hope you are all having a good week. Ive had a quite a hectic weekend and managed to get no crafting done at all! So now hopefully over the next couple of days I can be let loose in my craftroom!! Yay!!
I did however manage to paint this gorgeous new stamp I received as a lovely surprise from my sweet friend Camilla on Thursday!! She really did make my day, as my Autumn kit of the new Magnolia stamps were missing in the post and I kept seeing the gorgeous new images all over blogland.
So I immediately inked her up!!! She is called 'Tilda with Snowheart' and you know me and hearts!!! I painted her with Distress Ink Dusty Concorde.
Then on Saturday the gorgeous new Christmas Magnolia papers arrived!!! WOW!!! I love these too.
So finally, last night I managed to finish my card.
Here's a close up of the Poinsettia I made using Doo-Hickey die Poinsettia and then Sprinkling with Twinklets Diamond dust.
I know Ive gone mad with the die cuts again!!LOL . I dont think I could survive a day without my Cuttlebug!

Fall Colours
Hiya
There's a new challenge beginning over at Deep Ocean and this fortnight the challenge is Fall Colours
Ive used Tilda as a scarecrow on a tag card. Ive painted her with Distress Ink Walnut stain. For the leaves I have used my alteration die Autumn Gatherings mainly in coffee and cream colours
The 'Le Jardin Pansy' is a Whimsy stamp from 'Vintage Seed packet Set'!

Like I said before I dont own any Magnolia Halloween stamps and this was the second Halloween Challenge Ive had to do. So at last Ive inked up Super Hero Edwin , but made him into MR Evil!!!

I painted him with Distress Inks on 300gsm Watercolor paper. Colours were Black Soot and Dusty Concord. All papers used are by Magnolia

Tutorial on Gold Leafing!

Well I said I would be back with a Tutorial on Gold Leafing/Gilding. I just love the effect it adds to your cards,especially during the festive season. For years I could never quite get the fine stamps i.e. text stamps to work and had tried everything from glue pads to stamp and bond !!!but nothing worked for me!!!
UNTIL....
THIS.............. 'Duo Embellishing Adhesive' by 'USArtquest'
I just love the stuff!!
I went on a day course with Jill from The Stampman last year, as the owner from ArtQuest, Sue Pickering Rothamel was over in the UK and demoing at Woodware. I cant believe this had been under my nose in the shop for years and I had never tried it before!!! Well I finally found something that worked with gilding flakes!!
I used a piece of cut 'n' dry foam and added a few drops of the Duo Adhesive and then inked my stamp up just like you do with any other ink pad.
Stamp onto a piece of cardstock. Ive used black here ,as it showed up better for the pictures.
Remove the stamp and you will see it is cloudy white in colour. This means it is not quite ready for the gold leaf! Wait a couple of minutes for it to dry and if you are impatient like I am, use a heatgun for a couple of seconds. This was quite funny on the day as Sue had a saying ,' When it dries clear it will adhere!!' which made Jill and I chuckle, as I think it was stuck in our heads the rest of the day! (Well it did with me!!! LOL)
Once it had dried clear, cover over with the gilding flakes and used a stiff brush (but not too stiff) and brush away the excess. I found a Dreamweaver stencil brush is great for this.
This is how it should look once finished.

I also tried it on different types of cardstock. It looked particulary good on Kraft too.

TOMIC 18- Happy Birthday Magnolia
Hiya
Its a Halloween Challenge over At TOMIC today and we want you to create 'Anything BUT a Card!' Also this week we are celebrating Magnolias Birthday.
Ive decorated another gift bag using the gorgeous Graphic 45 papers 'Wizard of Oz'. The Tilda I have used is from the 'So Sweet Collection 2011' , Tilda with small gift (Ive cut off the gift)!!! as I dont actually have ANY halloween Magnolias and added a witches hat using the Graphic 45 papers.
For the Pumpkin I used the Magnolia Flag Dies for the eyes. I saw this done by Jane last year HERE when she made a pumpkin candle holder using the WOJ dies and thought it was a fab idea, so did the same with the New magnolia Dies

MDUC Challenge-Pink,White and Gold
Evening All
Hope you are all enjoying this heatwave we are having in the UK at the moment!! I cant believe it's 1st Oct and it's THIS hot!!! WOW !
Today is the start of a new challenge at MDUC and this week the challenge is White,Pink and Gold. What a perfect excuse for me to do a Christmas card
For the background of Tilda I've used 'Gold Leafing' and a fabulous glue by 'ArtQuest' which is perfect for using with stamps!! I promise I will be back in the week with a tutorial for this because I am forever being sent emails on how I did this and with Christmas coming it is perfect for this time of year.

A Christmas Gift Tag Card
WOW! Haven't we been lucky with the weather here in the UK this week!!!Believe it or not it was 28 degrees here yesterday!!! Gorgeous!..and what have I got to share??

But one minute its cold and we are on warming foods and the next we've a heatwave and the salads are back on the menu and BBQ's!!! Then I hear the forecasts for October is Snow!!!! WHAT!!
Anyway back to my tag. Ive used 'Tilda as Santas Little helper' from Jolly Snowy Collection 2009. Ive painted her with DI's. Papers are the gorgeous Maja Design.
Below Ive used something that came in the post for me yesterday :- D Ingrid sent me a gorgeous card and goodies for the blog candy she won back in the summer. Thankyou so much Ingrid I love them. Included were some gorgeous scalloped envelopes(seen in pic below) which I have placed the scalloped tag inside. I will most definately be using these alot now!!!Love Them :-D

It's Birthday time over ar Deep Ocean this fortnight and all we want you to do is include Happy Birthday somewhere on your card!
The challenge worked out perfect for me as I had a Birthday card to make for my gorgeous niece who is 13 this week!! 'Terrible Teens!!'
Ive coloured Tilda with DI's, slightly darker than normal to give a Autumnal look. Papers are Maja Design.
Fot the flowers Ive rolled my own flower and added pine cones which I picked up from the gorgeous Bolton Abbey and added the leaves using Tim's Alteration Die 'Autum Gatherings' and a few sprigs!!!Again I have added LOTS of white paint

Fancy Folds At MDUC

Its Fancy Folds this week over at MDUC and WOW the DT have blown me away once again. Go over and take a look, as there's a great prize up for grabs too.
Again I did a Magic Card. The tutorial is HERE. I just love making these cards. For the snowflake edges I used Tim's On the edge Sizzix Die Snowflake and added lots of Snowtex for texture.
Ive used 'Tilda with Glittering Halo' and 'Snowy Snowflake Circle' from the 'Jolly Snowy Collection 2009' painted with DI's on 300gsm Watercolour paper.
For the tag I used a Catslife press stamp 'Winter'

Winter Daydreams!!

At last I can sit down with a cuppa!! What a morning!!... but a good one...
Anyway back to the card! I'm trying to make a christmas card a week at the moment, to make things a little easier nearer the time!! Oh at least thats the plan!!!LOL
For my card I have used a NEW Tilda from the 'Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection' available soon. She's such a sweetie. I know I 'm going to love this collection. Ive painted her with DI's and used lots of Snow Tex around the edges.
Papers are Pion Design-Waiting for Santa 'Stars in Heaven' and Ive sat Tilda on Tim's Fence Die.
Doo Hickeys used are the Lampost and Cloud

Magnolia Down Under-Photo Inspiration
Hiya
Hope you have all had a great week. I certainly have had a different one, but a very enjoyable one too, as I have started my new job this week! So lots of changes in store :)
I started this card last weekend and only had time to finish it this afternoon. I dont know what has happened to my mojo this week! But it had certainly disappeared!
At last this afternoon I felt like a play in my craftroom to finish my challenge card for MDUC. This week the challenge is photo inspiration and is sponsered by Tilda's Town. Go across and have a look at the rest of the DT'S card. As always they are stunning :)
Ive used Tilda blowing bubbles and painted her with DI's on 300 gsm Watercolour paper
Designer Papers are by Pion.
Again I used my Sizzix Die 'Clock'! (love this), and rolled my own flowers and finished off painting them with 'Picket Fence 'Crackle paint
