Hi There

I really do love the Japanese dolls stamps by heroarts,though this is only the second time i have used them.I really do enjoy using them,but i must find a better black ink pad for their heads, as i can never get it just right.

Another card with the Tim Holtz stamp

I think im going to have so much fun with this stamp 'Fairy Garden' by Tim Holtz.It's so versitile.On this one i have used the distress ink pads.I first stamped the stamp with fired brick,pine needles and shabby shutters then spritzed with water and stamped onto watercolour paper.I managed to get two images from the stamp as you can see below.The first one is much more intense to the second image. The fern stamp behind the flower embellishment is from Aspects of design 'Japanese Dreams'

The New Alcohol Inks-Lights

It's been a few weeks and the new Alcohol Inks

Hi Folks-Well it's been a few weeks since my last post.Ive been so busy.With it being the school hols i managed to have 2 weeks holiday.Well ive been decorating our bedroom,spring cleaning and entertaining the kids.We also managed a trip to the Lakes and we were so lucky with the weather.It was sunny!!
Which meant my craftroom was very neglected.But not for long!!!!hee hee
Well at last Ive managed to at last get my hands on the new colour Alcohol inks and they are just so fabby!!and of course i had to have a go at making my usual shrink plastic embellishment buttons.The colours are soo cool .I find these embellishments so useful and just add the finshing touches to my cards.
I have made a couple of cards with the inks,which i will post tomorrow.So please call back then

My spring mojo has sprung!!!

Well i havent posted anything for over a week now.Well thats because i have nothing really to post.The crafting mojo has disappeared and the spring cleaning mojo has raised it's very dusty head!!!

Though i have managed to make a couple of cards.

Just a quick one today.

Well I have been having another play with the starburst stains again.This time French Country. Here's one card i made with them,more to follow shortly.They now come with spray caps,which i just love and they seem to go much further.Its such a shame you cant see the exact colours and the mica which adds such a pretty glimmer and sparkle to them.

A Tag

I thought i would have a go at altering a couple of tags.With this one I have used Dusty Concord distress ink and The Stampmans Aspects of Design Sheet 'Butterfly Garden' and the distress 'Borders and Corners'which i find very versitle and useful in alot of projects.
Again i have used shrink plastic and added beads etc to them.

For the glossy effect on the butterflies i have used glossy accents

A Shrink Plastic Tutorial

Well here it is as promised.A step by step on shrink plastic.I love having a play with this.It is so versitle.It reminds me of when i was little,when we used to shrink Seabrook crisps packets on a safety pin and wear it as a badge,though somehow I could never get it just right.
Below I have made embellishments and buttons,to coardinate with the stamps I have used on my cards.The easiest way is to do lots in one go then store away with the rest of your embellishments.I have used both white,black and transulcent shrink plastic.

Step 1:Stamp images on shrink plastic.Here i have used a black stazon ink pad.On the japanese doll, i coloured them in before I shrank it.But dont forget to colour lightly as the colour intensifies when shrunk.

Step 2:Cut out each shape and punch two holes in centre.(only do this for the ones you want to use as buttons.)

Step 3:Use heat tool to shrink each piece down.I also use a wooden stick for this part just to hold in place.

Step 4:On these particular pieces i have coloured with alcohol inks.The colours were Wild Plum and Gold.Let dry thoroughly.

The finished result.Lovely vibrant embellishments to coardinate with your projects.

The Shrunken Alcoholic Flowers!

With the Flowers i made BELOW(on the previous post) using shrink plastic and alcohol inks,I then mounted onto a card.The background of the card is also made using the alcohol inks.The colours i used were Wild Plum,Eggplant and Gold and the leaves were Meadow.


I then added a heart which was a chipboard heart and utee. Moonglow embossing powders were added to produce the rich vibrant colour of the heart, which was then stamped into using a swirl stamp while still warm.

And of course the famous 'Made with Love' embellishment.

A Snowy butterfly Garden

Well with all the snow we have been having of late and the lack of colour everywhere,i just couldn't get any motivation with colour on my cards.So I have decided to bring the black and white from outdoors onto my cards.
Though not turned out too bad.
Roll on Spring!!!The three butterflies to the left of the card have been stamped onto shrink plastic.Before shrinking i punched two holes in the centre, so that when they were shrunk down they looked like minature butterfly buttons.

A Butterfly Garden using Starburst Stains

Here i have used the Starburst Stains.The stains are slightly different from the Moonshadow inks as they dont have the walnut in,but they do have the mica,which gives out a beautiful shimmering effect.There are numerous sets of colours to chose from which complement each other.On this card i have used two colours from the May Day set.There are five colours in each set.They can be used altogether,which look stunning or individually and also as paints.

You can also add the stains into a spritzer bottle and spray on to give a different effect.

A Memory Album using the gorgeous Moonshadow inks by Moonglow

I know there are some beautiful papers available today,but have you ever wanted to produce your own backgrounds.Well with the Moonglow range you can.I just love Moonglow and the gorgeous shimmering effects they produce.
Here,on this Memory Album, I have used the Moonshadow inks range.These inks are walnut based with mica in them,which produce the most amazing effects and come in numerous colours.They are great to use for the vintage and distressed look. All the Moonglow range is available HERE

A Valentine Surprise

Do you ever get fed of sending cards for Valentines day and want to do something different.Well here i have made little bags of toffee for people special to me.Below is the toffee recipe and the step by step of how to do it.

Recipe for the Toffee

1 cup of butter
1lb of brown sugar
1 cup of golden syrup
1 14oz can condensed milk


Combine in sauce pan and bring to boil over medium heat. Boil until ready.You can keep testing when you think its ready by cooling in a cup of cold water, then pour into a buttered 9"x13" pan. Allow time to cool prior to cutting.




When ready for cutting,cube into small squares.

When cut up get some wax paper, ribbon and lots of wooden hearts to decorate.You also need cellophane bags for the toffee sweets.Here i have stamped my bags using white stazon with hearts and lips.
Stamp the waxpaper with hearts etc

Then cut up into squares ready to wrap up the toffees

Here is the finished result. mmmmmmm yummy!!!!

Now they are ready to give to loved ones
